Many businesses and recruitment agencies are now turning to Social Media for advertising as it has been a proven method of advertising.
I created this Facebook page in 2011 which has now grown to over 2100 members. While our page is predominantly for women we also have some interest from males in our group. In today’s economical times advertising for positions vacant can be quite costly so we offer free advertising on our Facebook group. I have even been contacted by the head of HR Departments of National Companies to use our service in the past.
We have a variety of women that are looking for work, ranging from school leavers to older women, some hoping to find full time others part time in administration, reception, retail, hospitality and other roles. We have had success with local businesses posting their positions vacant on our wall with positions now being filled by our members, with a great outcome for the business and the job seeker.
Over the last few years we have had media interest with The Daily Mercury, Channel 7 and ABC Radio all doing stories about our group. The other best form of advertising is word of mouth so the more the word is spread about our group the more successful it will become, a win win situation for both the business and the job seeker.
Although I would like to make it clear that we are not an Employment Agency and I simply do this page in a volunteer capacity to help women return to work after being a stay at home mother or unemployed. I found myself in this predicament after raising my family and wanted to help others. I am now working Part Time and loving my new job and life.
